Hello, and welcome! I am Bestestcat but most people call me Cat or simply Alex. I am an artist. To me, the word artist means freedom. I've had my fair share of hardships to overcome, as has anyone. Art is my tool to overcome such hardships. Now you probably have one question on your mind: Why art? For me art is the freedom I didn't always have. In this land of the free, there are still so many stresses of what you are meant to do, rules you're meant to follow, and people you're expected to please.

Personally, I never cared much for pleasing others. I grew up in a small town, and it was not really something we had to do on such vigorous levels socially. When I was a child I moved from that safe haven. That was extremely stressful. Not because I moved, not because I was going somewhere new, but because I was going somewhere which demanded such an expectation, a town close to the city. I always enjoyed art before the move, and I channeled it more to help myself cope. As life went on, hardships came and gone, as did people in my life, but my art never left. Such a basic means to express oneself that was easy to do, no matter your situation.

As I went into my teenage years, I realized I wanted to continue with art, to make a living off of such a beneficial thing. I felt as though I have done pretty well thus far, and I was working hard on improvement, and discovery. During those years people ask the same question you hear a lot "What do you want to do with your life?" or simply "what do you wanna be when you grow up?". These questions are simple and harmless. But, if you answer that you want to be an artist, those questions can be like sharp needles. People will doubt you, and try to convince you to be something like an art teacher. Don't get me wrong, I do understand those people may be concerned for your success, but I don't agree with those who are unwilling to already see your success with your choice.

I will tell you this, I am a strong believer of doing what you love. But, you can't do what you love if you cannot put in the amount of time and work that's required to achieve your goal. I have put in all the time and work I can with such limited resources, and if you have a dream, I suggest you do the same.

Now here is where I leave you, to learn about my work, how to support me, and how I have done it. A good thing to remember, as every penny matters, all the support you can offer will help make such an impact to help me in my success.
